Viking Society Publications Online
Exciting news! The Viking Society for Northern Research has made the majority of its publications available online, entirely free of charge, at

The full list is a testament to the variety, depth, and quality of the Viking Society’s publications over the past century. And naturally it seems that its decision to go along the open-access route of dissemination can only be good for the field.
Please note: many of the files available from http://vsnrweb-publications.org.uk/ are still in copyright, and should not be distributed without the consent of the Society and (where applicable) the author.

Oh, believe me that I’ve noticed. It’s absolutely wonderful to disseminate all of those works at no charge. Now if only my university’s “printing press” (i.e. copying services) will lower their rates, I’ll need a new bookshelf.

By the way, great job, Chris.
Like Paul, I’ve been enjoying this for a good while, but just wanted to add my vocal support to the Viking Society for their policy, which is both public-spirited and to the considerable benefit of the professional academic community too.
Thank you for this. I hadn’t stumbled on this site before, and it is, as Santiago says, a real boon, especially if you don’t have access to these books through a convenient library.
Congratulations to The Viking Society!
