Paganism and Christianity in Old Norse Textual Culture
Summer School for international students
Location: Århus University, Denmark
The summer school at the Scandinavian Department is an intensive short session course that will give you a challenging educational experience. Teaching takes place in a multinational environment, which brings together students and staff from different countries in Europe and abroad. The main readings will be the rich and varied Old Norse literature, produced in Iceland during the high Middle Ages, but having roots back to the narrative traditions of the Viking Age. More information about this year’s course will be announced soon.

Chris Abram’s post inadvertantly mixes-up two excellent-looking 2009 Summer Schools at Arhus – the details are of the archaeological one, not those of the textual one!
As a History&Archaeology graduate from Leicester University fortunate enough to have attended the 2007 textual one I can report it was lively & inter-disciplinary one, and I expect 2009′s to be the same!
Thanks for letting me know about the mix-up, Gordon. It’s now been changed to include the correct description.
